Sharing tells the story
The end-of-career block finally carries the story: the strongest headline, where you started and the club that made your career, how it ended, your generation rival by name. The score comes with a tier — Honest pro, International, Legend — rather than a percentage. The card image travels with its link. A duel link now has a preview: “Kylian challenges you on La Relève · 663 pts · Legend”. And the friend who lands reads the career to beat, two reference points, and the name of the rival they'll face. An award can be shared on the spot, too.
Your rival fights back
He lived his career alongside yours, but only league titles counted on his record: you won the duel 98 times out of 100, even at the end of a career that went nowhere. He now wins the same trophies you do — cups, continental competitions, individual awards — and his reputation, his caps and his seasons weigh on the same scale. One career in five now finishes behind its rival, another one neck and neck. The 🆚 line finally says something.
Finals are played, not drawn
Six new sequences settle a trophy live: leading the comeback from 0-2, holding the siege through the last ten minutes, coming on cold with everything at stake, retaking the penalty that has to be retaken. Each step succeeds or fails on your attributes and your nerve, and the final tally is what lifts the cup — or leaves it to the other lot. A young player's first big night only comes around once.
A bigger trophy cabinet
The second continental cup (C2) joins the honours list, goalkeepers get their Golden Glove, and a goal the game actually told you about can be voted Goal of the Year. At retirement, your home club settles up: a plaque in the corridor, a retired shirt or a statue outside the ground, depending on the seasons you spent there and the titles you won in that shirt. Plus twelve new badges — the farewell tour, the January gamble, all four floors — fifty-six in all.
Hanging up, or coming back
Retirement is now decided from the transfer market, right beside the offers: no more signing somewhere just to be able to say no. And if you left to chase the money at the far end of the world, your old league can keep its promise in January — the offer to come back actually turns up, at a third of the cheque you draw out there. Go home and finish the season, or stay warm until June.
The veteran's contracts
A thirty-something's wage no longer tracks his transfer fee: an 87-rated 34-year-old is no longer offered €2M by the giants where he earned €10M. A boss season weighs on the cheque, petrodollars become a real argument again (at least two and a half times the best European offer), staying extends slightly downwards past 33, and promised minutes are computed against the named competitor — the one you actually meet when you sign. Past 32, the farewell tour opens up.
The competitor for your spot
The starter in your position now has a name, an age and a level that evolves. The cause panel says who is keeping you out, offers tell you who you'll have to displace, and he can get injured, retire, be sold — or ask to leave once you've benched him. Five events, one badge.
The winter window
A second decision point in the season, only when it matters: stuck in the rotation, or a sinking club while you're worth more. A six-month loan, a transfer, or gritting your teeth. If you leave, the season sheet adds the autumn at the old club to the spring at the new one — and the cause panel spells it out.
Handing over
At retirement, another career carries yours on: the child, who bears your name, or the protégé you trained as a youth coach. Your home club calls them, yesterday's rival has a successor, the calendar moves on — and the lineage is judged generation after generation. Five dedicated events, an epilogue line, two badges.
The media pack
Six parody media figures — the ranting pundit, the investigative reporter, the transfer insider… Eight rare events, signed front pages, and a last word from the press in the epilogue.
The bench and the agent
Coach and agent become named characters. Every coach has a style (youth developer, disciplinarian, tactician, paternal) visible in the cause panel; they get sacked when the club disappoints, and a bench left on good terms reopens doors in the transfer window.
World wave
Six new leagues and new playable nationalities, wages that follow the country, a transfer market that spots prospects and players from relegated clubs, and a contract ratchet earned on the pitch after 30.
The match moment
A second slot every season, ball in play: the one-on-one, the 89th-minute corner, the penalty shoot-out round by round. And retirement is no longer a “yes”: you sign a press release generated from your career.
